An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join the Psychology Team at Priory Hospital Cardiff. Priory Hospital Cardiff is a modern mental health treatment unit. The unit includes a variety of facilities, such as three secure gardens, a gym, a hydrotherapy pool, patient practice kitchens, patient social area, art rooms and dedicated support service areas. The service is currently being developed to provide bespoke treatment packages for a variety of patients with complex mental health needs. This is a part-time role working 22.5 hours per week.

What you'll be doing





The unit will provide a modern, homely environment promoting independence, whilst employing an experienced Multi-Disciplinary Team to oversee and support patient progress. As a Registered Psychologist you'll work alongside colleagues from Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Social Work to provide high quality care. The Psychologist we are looking for will be experienced in assessment and formulation to help determine the treatment needs of individual service users. A background in Positive Behaviour Support would be beneficial. The role will also include providing training to staff, running reflective practice, writing risk assessments and providing individual and group interventions, to meet the needs of the population.

We are looking for someone with a creative and compassionate approach, with an enthusiasm for improving the quality of life of our service users both whilst they are in our care and as they progress to less restrictive environments. There are excellent opportunities for training and development. Essential Requirements Post-graduate qualification in clinical or forensic psychology and Registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Registered Psychologist. The candidate should have experience of working with complex clients and supporting staff teams. Preferable Experience of working in a forensic setting, HCR-20 trained and experience in the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model.
