We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the necessary skills to provide high-quality nursing support in a veterinary setting. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and excellent communication skills to ensure the best outcomes for our patients and their owners.
Duties
Provide nursing care to animals in accordance with veterinary protocols and standards.
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other procedures.
Perform animal restraint and catheterisation as needed.
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed.
Conduct laboratory tests and assist in diagnostic imaging, including X-rays.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care.
Monitor vital signs and overall health of animals during recovery.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and wellness practices.
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the clinic environment using aseptic techniques.
Working Monday - Friday 8.30am - 6.00pm
Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse.
Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and husbandry.
Comfortable with routine anaesthesia and inpatient care
Good communicator with clients & colleagues
Experience in handling various species.
Knowledge of dental terminology related to veterinary care.
Skills in laboratory procedures and critical care for animals.
Proficiency in animal restraint techniques and basic grooming practices.
