Job Description

Positions are available within both Orthopaedic and Cancer Prehabilitation to work under the direction of Therapists (including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Dietitians) maintaining an effective, day-to-day service working as part of the Therapy team delivering prehabilitation and rehabilitation through 1:1 and group settings, both face to face and virtually.



The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.



To provide a service with the Therapists that will promote physical and functional rehabilitation , nutritional status of patients and overall health and wellbeing



To work under supervision and assist the Therapist s in clinical and administrative duties .



To be delegated routine interventions to be carried out independently, and to progress these interventions within guidelines laid down by the Therapists .



Working alongside the various professions to deliver psychologically informed prehabilitation and rehabilitation to promote self-management and preparation for forthcoming treatmen t. This may include t he deliver y and progress ion of group exercise sessions within an agreed framework, assisting dietitian s to deliver first line nutritional advice and assist in the delivery of group dietetic sessions. With direction from the Occupational Therapist, they will take responsibility for implementing and managing independence, health and well-being and safety in hospital or community settings. The post-holder will work independently to an agreed framework and will be responsible and accountable for these tasks.



To contribute, as part of the team, to the overall aims of the Therapies Services and work within the Therapies Rehabilitation model framework. The role requires flexibility in supporting the interdisciplinary nature of the service .
