We are currently looking to recruit a
Rehabilitation Therapist
to join a multi-disciplinary team, delivering dynamic, highly specialist class and 1:1 rehabilitation therapy to patients.
This role is a 12 months Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover).
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Main responsibilities:
To be responsible for the delivery of dynamic, highly specialist class and 1:1 therapy to patients referred to Flint House
Complement existing therapies with massage and/or strength and conditioning as appropriate, following consultation with Physiotherapist in charge of patient treatment
Providing exercise programmes that promote health and lifestyle management. Provide exercise programmes for patients on the Health and Wellbeing Program including health walks
Take an active part in the assessment of rehabilitation needs and the preparation of therapy plans for patients
To critically evaluate treatment outcomes and ensure treatments are evidence based
To develop and maintain close working relationships with, and communicate effectively with members of the rehabilitation and multidisciplinary team
To maintain adequate, clear clinical records in accordance with departmental and professional standards
To assist, as required, with in-service training of Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Therapists
To assist, as required, with public relations work via education, presentations and promotion of Flint House to service users and other relevant associations
To attend postgraduate courses as appropriate, to remain up to date and to continue to provide a high standard of professional practice
Liaise with external medical services to ensure continuity of care and ongoing referral where appropriate
To contribute to the clinical education of Rehabilitation Therapy students at both under-graduate and post-graduate levels
To follow Infection Control procedures as detailed in the Health & Safety Policy.
To make known to the Rehabilitation Manager and Lead Rehabilitation therapist any deficiency in working conditions, equipment and procedures that may constitute a hazard to patients or staff and to ensure adequate precautions are instituted
To assist the rest of the team developing the Departments Youtube channel
To deliver Virtual Rehab sessions as and when required
Essential skills:
BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation or equivalent as well as relevant professional registration
Member of BASRaT or SST
High level of clinical knowledge
Excellent communicator; efficient, effective and diplomatic communication, both written and verbal
Robust self-directed learning
Willing to be DBS checked
