Your future role





You will be required to assist the depot operational and project teams to facilitate fleet operators to undertake/supervise mechanical & electrical maintenance, detailed fault finding and repair, reliability growth on the class 345 Aventra fleet.



Successful applicants will be responsible for ensuring that any maintenance undertaken at the depot is completed in accordance with the company's processes, procedures and comply with all safety regulations. The role will be responsible for a level of people management to ensure sufficient cover, competence and knowledge is maintained throughout a 24 / 7 period. This is Safety Critical environment and all tasks undertaken will need to ensure that the operator can achieve and maintain the reliability and availability targets set for the trains.



We'll look to you for:


Manage and lead team in technical workload for High level technicians across Old Oak Common Lead and be key point of contact for articulating and presenting technical diagnoses to customers, specifically chairing customer and internal FRB Provide train systems engineering advice for the vehicle as a whole and for the key vehicle systems (such as TCMS - train control system, HVAC, propulsion, brakes, doors, on-train communications etc.) Lead detailed fault finding, diagnostics and review work of hi tech team Drive culture to produce solutions that provide short term mitigation and long-term resolution Monitoring of warranty issues and liaising with supplier technical teams Assisting engineering team in updating of maintenance instructions, overhaul instruction, processes & procedures to optimize maintenance and liaise with Technical Publications and Central Engineering teams where required Monitor of trains in service using remote monitoring system called Orbita Run diagnostics software to identify faults with various train systems i.e. hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, train management systems & on-board computers. Plan and lead system software updates as required Service Provider representation on the internal safety forum, feeding back decisions and outputs to the Customer Lead team and drive positive Health and Safety culture Gather evidence of faults and create reports to ensure warranty covered parts are replaced Lead appointed person for electrical safety across Old Oak Common
