Relief Care Assistant

This role will be subject to a suitable DBS check, 2 satisfactory references and the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, the salary for this role does not support sponsorship of overseas workers



This relief position is to cover during busy periods of annual leave and sickness absences



The Institute of Our Lady of Mercy strives to be of service to the poor, sick and disadvantaged. We do this through a variety of ministries including education, nursing, providing women's outreach services, chaplaincies and providing high quality care homes for the elderly.

The Convent, Southcoates Lane is a community of Sisters. Working as part of a team and covering a 24/7 rota you will deliver person centered care in the Convent and ensure that a compassionate and quality service is provided to the Sisters. Whilst ensuring their dignity is respected, you will enable Sisters to remain as independent as possible and assist them to remain an active part of their community.

You will have:



Minimum NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care or be prepared to work towards it Experience of delivering personalised care for older people including people living with dementia A good knowledge of the care standards Minimum 2 years' experience working within a care environment for older people

We aim for all staff employed in our Care Homes to be required to have undertaken an Enhanced DBS check (together with an Adult Barred list check where applicable) as they may be called on to undertake regulated activity as part of a 'whole home' approach to providing high quality responsive care in accordance with CQC requirements and Government legislation.

Pay: 13.64-17.64 per hour
