Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a relief cover staff member for flexible/variable hours to cover mainly for staff holidays and absences. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our skilled and dedicated staff team

To assist in the day to day organisation of the after school club, providing the children with safe, stimulating play opportunities. This post is to provide relief cover.

Preferably applicants should have previous experience working in a childcare environment, however this is not essential. Any necessary training and support will be provided.

Successful candidates will be required to become registered with the SSSC and join the PVG Scheme.

Main Duties

Providing safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities, preparing activities, organising the programme

Collecting children from school and delivering them safely to the club

Administering first aid or medication as appropriate

Encouraging parental involvement and support

Close liaison with parents, schools and other after school and play related agencies

Attend meetings as appropriate

Carrying out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework

Working within agreed policies

Training as required both for club and SSSC registration

Following the Scottish Government advise and guidance surrounding COVID 19

Any other duties as deemed necessary for the club and on behalf of the Management Committee

Essential Criteria

An understanding of good quality after school care

A commitment to equal opportunities

Ability to provide safe, creative play

Ability to communicate at all levels

Experience with working with 4 - 14 year olds

Ability to meet children's individual needs

Ability to work as part of a team
