JOB TITLE: DRIVER / PORTER (MIN. B DRIVING LICENCE (CAR LICENCE) OR MIN LGV CLASS C LICENCE FOR AN LGV POSITION.

JOB DESCRIPTION

General driving in a careful and fuel efficient manner Locally, Nationally and Internationally. Involves occasional vehicle manoeuvring in difficult circumstances. Map reading and navigating. Tachograph operation and driver hour's operation in line with Road Transport regulations and Working Time Regulations. General vehicle maintenance including daily checks, defect reporting and vehicle cleanliness. Team and sole working for vehicle furniture loading, stacking, wrapping and unloading. This includes careful thought of positioning of furniture and boxes, etc and sheeting and webbing furniture procedures. Packing of boxes to include glass, china, pictures, kitchenware, books, linens, etc and export wrapping of all furniture items for general removals and/or shipment out with Europe. Some work may include working with different staff on different days in sole teams or teams of three plus. Involves some paperwork and dealing with clients on a daily basis. Involves overtime and overnight stops, for which overnight payment is made.
Essential:

B (Car Licence) / C1 Driving Licence - up to 7.5t vehicles. LGV class C or CE driving licence. Valid Driver CPC card and digital tachograph card For Class C or CE licence. Minimum actual driving experience of 1 year of 3.5t Luton vans. Knowledge of Road Transport Working Time Directive. Map reading skills and good sense of direction. appearance and ability to speak fluent English for dealing with clients. Ability to follow procedures on own accord and work both solely and as part of a team. Ability to deal with clients and general public in a professional and friendly manner. Good time keeping and time management skills. Hardworking and reliable Flexible working hours which may involve working in evenings and weekends.

Pay: 25,000.00-30,000.00 per year
