Job Summary

We are looking for an ideal candidate who is flexible and resides in Hemel Hempstead. Please note that this is an ad hoc position, meaning that jobs are not guaranteed and will depend on customer requirements.

The driver will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently. We seek a reliable and skilled driver to join our team. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, and the ability to communicate effectively with both team members and clients.

The driver will operate a Luton van for collection and delivery of removals while adhering to all safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Safely drive and operate delivery vehicles, to transport goods to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition and report any mechanical issues. Load and unload goods from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate with the supervisor. Follow all traffic laws and company policies while on the road. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients during deliveries. Assist in warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and organisation of stock.

Qualifications

Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience as a delivery driver is preferred. Previous experience in commercial driving or as a van driver is advantageous. Strong mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform minor repairs if necessary. Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and customers professionally. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work varied hours as required by the delivery schedule.

Pay: 13.00-14.00 per hour
