Durham's Heating Services is a trusted installer of heating and renewable energy systems based in Retford. As part of our continued growth supporting the UK's move toward net-zero, we are looking for a Heat Pump & Solar PV Surveyor/Designer to join our team.

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of renewable energy projects, focusing on sustainability and efficiency. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, as well as proficiency in various technical tools and software.

You'll be the first point of contact for customers exploring renewable heating solutions, managing projects from initial survey through to system design, quoting, and follow-up after installation.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct property surveys to assess energy usage, insulation, and suitability for renewable systems Advise customers on air source heat pumps, solar PV panels, and battery storage options Design renewable heating and solar systems to MCS standards using specialist software Produce quotes and technical designs, following up with customers post-installation Manage data effectively to ensure accurate reporting and analysis throughout project phases. Collaborate with installation teams for seamless project delivery Provide technical support and refine system designs based on site feedback Monitor project progress, addressing any issues that arise during the development phase. Keep up to date with relevant regulations, government incentives, and industry developments

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Degree (2:2 or higher) in Environmental Science, Building Services, Renewable Energy, or similar relevant subject
OR

Proven experience in a surveying, technical, heating, electrical or renewable energy role Strong understanding of property construction, energy efficiency, and system design Excellent communication and customer service skills Self-motivated, organised, and able to work both independently and in a team Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and basic CRM systems Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with team members and stakeholders. A proactive approach to problem-solving and project management. Commitment to sustainability and a passion for advancing renewable energy technologies. Full UK driving licence Right to work in the UK

Desirable (Not Essential) Skills & Experience:

Experience with MCS-compliant design and surveying Knowledge of heat loss calculations and heat pump systems Familiarity with solar PV, battery storage, and system integration Experience using CAD or renewable design software Experience with renewable heating grants
