Renewables Electrician - Solar PV & Energy Storage
Location: Northallerton (DL7) - Nationwide Travel
Salary: 40,000 + Overtime + Company Bonus

Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrician with proven experience in solar PV systems, battery storage, and residential ventilation solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious professional who wants to develop their career in renewable energy while contributing to the UK's transition to net zero.
You will install, maintain, and commission electrical systems in domestic properties, ensuring all work meets industry regulations while providing a first-class service to customers. The role involves nationwide travel with occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out domestic electrical installations, maintenance and repairs.
Install and commission solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery storage units, and associated electrical equipment.
Install and service ventilation systems, including extractor fans and MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery).
Perform electrical testing, inspection, and certification in line with current regulations.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults safely and efficiently.
Work in compliance with IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) and health & safety standards.
Liaise with customers clearly and professionally.
Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure projects are delivered on time.
Must be willing to travel across the UK and stay away when required.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification.
Proven experience in domestic electrical work.
Hands-on experience with solar PV systems and/or energy storage.
Knowledge of ventilation systems (extractor, PIV, MVHR).
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Full UK driving licence.
City & Guilds 2391 (Testing & Inspection) or equivalent.
Desirable:
MCS accreditation experience for solar PV installations.
Knowledge of PAS2030 standards and ECO scheme projects.
Certification for battery storage installation.
Previous experience working within government-backed energy efficiency schemes.
