We are seeking a proactive leader to oversee rent reconciliations, income processes, and compliance with fiscal regulations, ensuring accurate data and timely reporting. This role involves guiding the Income Team, collaborating across departments, and supporting annual rent reviews to maintain efficient financial controls and correct rent and service charge calculations.



In addition, we are looking for candidates that have a passion to advocate on behalf of people and communities.





What do our Rent Accountant do;


Provide expert technical support to the Income Team, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and accounting requirements while maintaining data integrity across systems. Manage annual rent change processes, including calculations, approvals, system updates, and tenant notifications in line with regulations. Advise on rent calculations for social, affordable, and intermediate rents, collaborate with teams on new developments, and support accurate rental income forecasting for budgets. Deliver accurate reporting and reconciliations, including monthly balance sheet checks, inter-company transactions, and rental income alignment between systems. Ensure compliance and risk management, supporting audits, monitoring legislative changes, and implementing best practices to maintain financial integrity.


What we are looking for;


Part - Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA) or extensive experience working in a finance team, specifically with a focus on rent regulation. Experience of leading and motivating a high performing finance team and effectively managing performance to get the best from individuals Track record of working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve agreed performance metrics. Experience of calculating social housing rents and service charges, and have a clear understanding of the regulations and legislation that underpin them. Ability to analyse large complex data sets to produce reports and deliver information to a range of audiences
