The Role





As an advanced Repair Engineer, you will be responsible for performing complex repairs down to component level on a wide range of industrial equipment including variable speed drives, PLCs, touchscreen HMIs and power supplies.
Conduct visual inspections to identify automation issues on equipment, including drives, PLCs, and HMI interfaces.

Perform service and refurbishment tasks, such as cleaning and replacing aged or faulty components and mechanical assemblies.

Troubleshoot complex automation problems through hands-on inspection and analysis.

Demonstrate strong component identification skills, using part number systems and expanding knowledge of emerging technologies.

Perform expert-level soldering and desoldering on thru-hole, SMD, and BGA components.

Reverse engineer both familiar and unfamiliar products to establish failure points and develop testability.

Optimize repair costs by identifying and utilizing suitable surplus components from existing inventory.

Prioritize workload based on job urgency and importance.

Continuously refine technical knowledge to stay aligned with industry advancements.

Provide support and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.



About You







With excellent problem-solving skills, and with a desire to share your knowledge and learn new skills, furthermore, you will have:


Advanced experience working in a fault finding/troubleshooting environment Knowledge of electronics theory and principles Soldering experience A logical approach to fault-finding Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Exceptional attention to detail
