This is a pivotal role supporting the work of our Responsive Repairs team through direct liaison with customers, responding to enquiries relating to their homes. The role requires face to face customer contact, inspecting homes in line with legislative requirements and ensuring any works have been carried out to a high standard.

You will offer our tenants advice and provide clear guidance to maintain their homes, particularly in line with our Responsive Repairs Policy and Tenant Handbook. This will also involve resolving problems and ensuring that our homes meet legal standards, especially in relation to issues like damp and mould.

This role also involves liaising with contractors, BCH Operatives and offering support and assistance to the Customer Service Advisors on the Repairs hotline, to support the delivery of an efficient, cost-effective Repairs service that keep our residents safe and satisfied.

You will diagnose repair needs, raise accurate job orders, and follow these up to make sure work is completed within agreed timescales to an acceptable standard. You will also manage cases involving damp and mould, ensuring appropriate and timely action is taken in line with the legislative requirements of Awaab's Law.

The successful candidate will support the wider team by maintaining detailed records in our IT systems, post-inspecting completed work, and helping monitor contractor performance. When required, you will act as a deputy for the Operations Manager and support service improvements by identifying more effective ways of working.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and a real commitment to delivering excellent customer service are essential. You will need to be well organised, confident working independently, and capable of managing your time and workload effectively.

You should have solid experience in property maintenance or the housing sector, particularly in a role involving inspections, repairs, or responsive maintenance. A good understanding of damp and mould, including diagnosis and remedies, is essential.
