We are looking for a highly detail-oriented and dependable Report Writer to support our playground inspection services. This role involves transcribing inspector audio and visual notes and producing clear, accurate, and professional reports based on site inspections of playgrounds, parks, and recreational equipment. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent grammar and formatting skills, and the ability to translate technical inspection findings into well-structured written reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Transcribe from written, audio and visual recordings from certified playground inspectors into accurate written reports.
Compile and edit structured inspection reports in line with industry standards and internal guidelines.
Interpret technical terminology relating to playground equipment, surfacing, safety regulations, and maintenance requirements.
Ensure reports are consistent, grammatically correct, and free from formatting or factual errors.
Liaise with inspectors and team members to clarify ambiguous or unclear audio content.
Maintain a consistent tone and layout across reports to meet branding and compliance expectations.
Handle sensitive and safety-critical data with the utmost confidentiality and accuracy.
Organise and archive reports for internal recordkeeping and client access.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience in report writing, transcription, or a similar role.
Excellent written English, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
Strong listening skills with the ability to accurately transcribe from varied accents and background noise.
High attention to detail and accuracy in written communication.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and general formatting practices.
Ability to manage multiple reports simultaneously and meet tight turnaround times.
Familiarity with or willingness to learn sector-specific terms (e.g., impact attenuation, surfacing wear, loose-fill maintenance).
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Background or understanding of the playground inspection industry, health & safety, or public infrastructure reporting.
Experience using digital transcription tools or voice dictation platforms.
Ability to read and interpret inspector checklists, standards or technical drawings.
Knowledge of health and safety compliance reporting or risk-based language.

Office based, open plan. Monday to Friday 09.00 - 17.00.
