Based within the Radiology department at Withybush General Hospital in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire; our service performs a comprehensive range of ultrasound investigations using state-of-the-art equipment, with all systems recently upgraded. Applicants must be a Registered Health Professional with an appropriate post graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound and evidence of relevant experience. There may be a requirement to work flexible hours to meet service demands.

Be responsible for scanning patients and producing independent reports of these scans in line with departmental guidelines;



Take an active role in teaching and practical training of student Sonographers and others in training;



Participate in the audit and clinical governance programs with the department;



To communicate with patients, their relatives, and others about the purpose of the examinations and the scan results (in line with departmental guidelines).



To develop ones own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others, identifying any training needs to the Lead Sonographer;



To plan and prioritise ones own workload and that of that area to ensure the efficient flow of work, keeping waiting times to a minimum whilst maintaining a high standard of service delivery.

Two integrated care centres (Aberaeron and Cardigan, Ceredigion).



Community facilities, including:



48 General Practices (GP surgeries), 49 Dental Practices, 98 Community Pharmacies (chemists), 44 General Ophthalmic Practices (including eye health and low vision services), 38 sites providing mental health and learning disability services, care within your own homes.



Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
