An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic
Reptile Keeper
to join our team caring for an extensive private collection of reptiles and amphibians.
This hands-on role involves all aspects of daily husbandry and welfare, ensuring the highest standards of care, cleanliness, and environmental control. You'll be working with a wide variety of species, supporting a professional and well-maintained facility.
The position is open to both experienced keepers and trainee-level applicants who are passionate about reptiles, amphibians, and developing their animal care skills.
Responsibilities
Daily feeding and care of a diverse range of reptiles and amphibians.
Cleaning and maintenance of enclosures to high presentation and welfare standards.
Recording environmental data including temperature, humidity, and UV levels.
Conducting regular health and weight checks, with accurate record keeping.
Following established feeding schedules and enrichment plans.
Performing routine maintenance of aquatic systems and filtration equipment.
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Reporting any health or behavioural concerns promptly to management.
Skills
Experience in animal care (reptile or amphibian experience desirable).
Excellent attention to detail and high animal welfare standards.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow detailed routines and work independently.
Reliable, proactive, and hardworking.
A genuine passion for reptiles and amphibians.
Schedule
This is a full time position 5 days per week, 10 hour shift with a 1 hour paid lunch break. Weekend work is required and runs on a rotational basis with 1 weekend in 4 off.
