The Opportunity

What You'll Do

Design and enhance next-gen ammunition & pyrotechnics with reliability, repeatability, and safety at the core. Perform rigorous product testing to define performance benchmarks and uncover opportunities for innovation. Maintain each product category throughout its natural lifecycle, providing innovative improvements and enhancements. Build a performance data library that sets the standard for transparency and technical confidence. Support production and manufacturing with root cause investigations. Collaborate cross-functionally with production, procurement, and commercial teams to ensure technical excellence from R&D through to delivery.

What You Bring

Essential Skills & Experience

Degree in engineering (or closely related discipline) or equivalent practical experience. Demonstrable experience across the design lifecycle, from ideation through to development and testing. Analytical thinker with robust problem-solving & statistical skills (familiarity with mixed methods research approaches desirable). Strong grasp of safety and quality standards in manufacturing environments. Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Bonus Points

Ammunition or defence-related product development experience. Practical shooting/testing background or professional certifications.

Working Environment & Conditions

This role involves live testing of ammunition and pyrotechnics, root-cause investigations, and use of PPE and RPE. The ability to work safely in high-consequence environments is essential. Full training and support provided.
