The Blackpool Better Start partnership is one of five locations in the UK which received funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, A Better Start,to support initiatives in early intervention and prevention for the early years.



Over the last decade the partnership has brought together the NSPCC, Blackpool Council, NHS health organisations, Police, local parents and community organisations to collaboratively make the sustainable changes needed within services and systems supporting early years to ensure every baby has the best start in life.



Better Start now has the ambition to share this learning with other sites across the UK to scale up and replicate learning and approach to benefit more children. The role will enable the candidate to be involved in critical research in the field of early child development and contribute to the legacy of Better Start in Blackpool and support development to share the learning nationally. The role of The Research and Evaluation Officer will


Ensure that early years projects and activities are evaluated and monitored Support strategic planning and implementation of new research and delivery areas Consider long term impact and effectiveness from delivery Compile data and evidence and present to a wide range of audiences Support legacy and sustainability through consolidation of a decade of evidence
