Full-time: 35 hours per week



Fixed Term: 3 years



We are looking for a Research Assistant to join the newly-formed, Wellcome Trust-funded Mirchandani Lab within the Centre for Inflammation Research and Institute for Regeneration & Repair to study the impact of hypoxia on monocyte biology and ontogeny in the context of critical illness.



This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.



The Opportunity:



This is a 3-year post, full time Research Assistant position to work in the group of Dr. Ananda Mirchandani. The Research Assistant role will offer a unique mix of utilising and developing interdisciplinary scientific techniques, performing cutting-edge scientific research with support and guidance from the PI, and establishing managerial and leadership capabilities. This post is funded by a Wellcome Trust Career Development Award (3.1 million, 20242033).



Your skills and attributes for success:



Degree (B.Sc., Honours, M.Sc. or equivalent) in Biology, Immunology or similar discipline Hold a UK Home Office Animal Licence (PIL) (modules A+B) Be competent in mouse work, including common techniques (eg. substance administration) and inflammatory disease models Experience with mouse tissue harvest
