About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a national programme of work on the whole school and college approach (WSCA) to mental health.
The postholder will work as part of a research team to undertake research and dissemination activities to evidence the impact of a self-assessment toolkit for educational settings to track the implementation and outcomes linked to the whole-school and college approach (WSCA) to mental health.
You will be involved in planning and delivering a programme of dissemination activities with key local and national stakeholders (schools, MHSTs, Department for Education etc.) to showcase insights from the WSCA work undertaken so far, and engagement activities to expand reach of the toolkit to new users across all phases of education. The postholder will also coordinate and conduct quantitative and qualitative research to understand how responses collected by education settings on the WSCA self-assessment toolkit relate to publicly available information (e.g. school performance indicators, demographic inequalities) and to explore the experiences of educational staff in using the toolkit and the impact on school practice.
About you
You will be a proactive individual with experience in project administration and with experience using a range of research methods. Proficiency in processing, cleaning, and analysing quantitative data using Excel and R/SPSS is essential, alongside experience collecting qualitative data through interviews and/or focus groups. You will be capable of analysing this data using NVivo using thematic or framework analysis. You will be a quick learner with an eagerness to develop research skills and will be highly organised and motivated. You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and an enthusiasm to get involved in a diverse range of dissemination activities. You will have the skills to manage your own workload, problem solve, contribute to interpretation of research findings, and communicate clearly with the team, line management, and stakeholders.
At least a 2.1 degree in Psychology or related discipline is essential, with experience working in psychology research and an interest in school mental health.
