About the role

Prof. Kalina Manova is seeking to appoint one Research Assistant to work part-time on projects in international economics with a focus on global production networks.
The research assistant will perform various tasks: literature review, data collection and cleaning, data manipulation and analysis, theoretical derivations, project presentations and summaries, etc. The details of these duties will be assigned by Prof. Kalina Manova.
The position will be funded by Professor Manova's ERC Advanced Grant, administered by UKRI under the UK government's Horizon Europe Funding Guarantee [Grant # EPZ5333971]. The research agenda examines "Firm Network Technology and Technology in Firm Networks".

Duties and responsibilities:
The post-holder will help with projects on international trade and investment, with a focus on global production networks.
The post-holder will contribute to the overall activities of the department as required.
As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the postholder.
The postholder will carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the line manager or Head of Department/Division.
The postholder will actively follow UCL policies including Equal Opportunities and Race Equality policies.
The postholder will maintain an awareness and observation of Fire and Health & Safety Regulations.

This will be a part-time position for 8 months in May-Dec 2025. Exact working arrangements are determined by Professor Kalina Manova. In addition, staff benefit from six College closure days per year.
The starting salary for this position will be Grade 6B, Point 25-28 of UCL Salary Scales 38,607 - 41,255) per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
The person appointed will work at the offices of the Department of Economics, Drayton House, 30 Gordon Street, London WC1H 0AX.
