The Epidemiology Group (www.abdn.ac.uk/epidemiology) runs and hosts the UK Antimicrobial Registry (www.abdn.ac.uk/ukar). Funded by, and working with, the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (www.bsac.org.uk). This registry is designed to answer a broad set of research questions around novel antimicrobial agents and will, ultimately, contribute to the fight against antimicrobial resistance.

###

We are looking to recruit an analyst to work on the registry. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Investigators and other members of the study team and will produce statistical reports important for the running of the registry, take the lead on main registry analysis, and produce and present written/oral output based on this analysis. They may be required, occasionally, to work on other studies, but their primary responsibility will be to the UKAR.

The Epidemiology Group would like to appoint an analyst to work on the UK Antimicrobial Registry (UKAR). The main purpose of the role is to be the lead analyst on the registry, and all the tasks associated with this.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated with experience analysing large quantitative datasets. Under the direction of the Chief Investigators, the post-holder will be responsible for conducting routine analysis and preparing reports to assist in the running of the registers; assisting with quality assurance procedures; conducting primary analysis of registry data and producing first draft reports of associated study output; and preparing datasets for analysis by other individuals.

Candidates should have the ability to work both as part of a team, and independently. In addition, time management, attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential.

Other duties may include similar tasks across the remainder of the Epidemiology Group portfolio of studies.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 5 salary scale, 32,546 per annum.

Informal enquiries should be made to Professor Gareth Jones or Professor Gary Macfarlane at epidemiology@abdn.ac.uk.

In accordance with the UKVI immigration rules, it is with regret that this role DOES NOT MEET THE SALARY REQUIREMENTS for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. For this role, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK prior to commencing employment and obtain the right to work in the UK. Information on other visa options is available at https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa.

Applicants may be invited to undertake a short (1hr) task as part of the selection process. Long-list applicants will be asked to complete the task, which will identify a shortlist of candidate who will thereafter be invited to interview. Invitation to complete the task does not guarantee an interview."
