The Health Economics Research Unit (HERU) is seeking to appoint a motivated Research Assistant/ Fellow in health economics for a period of up to 10 months. The successful candidate will contribute to applied economic evaluations of health technologies that inform NHS practice and policy. HERU is located within the Institute of Applied Health Sciences within the School of School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition.





HERU is one of Europe's leading centres for health economics, with a reputation for delivering applied and methodological work that is nationally and internationally significant. HERU contributed to the University of Aberdeen's Unit of Assessment 2 (Public Health, Health Services and Primary Care) Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021) submission, with 95% of our activity being rated as internationally-excellent or world-leading. This placed us 8th out of 32 institutions in the UK, and top in Scotland.



Key Responsibilities:



Ideal candidates will have knowledge and experience in decision analytic modelling, statistical analysis, and evidence synthesis. You'll work within multidisciplinary teams on health technology assessments, developing and critiquing economic models, and producing high-quality outputs for journals and/or policy reports.



Applicants should hold an MSc in health economics, statistics, operations research, or a related quantitative field. For appointment at Research Fellow level, a PhD or MSc plus equivalent research experience is required.



The post provides a great opportunity to gain experience in the field of health economics and decision analytic modelling, working as part of a dynamic team at the forefront of health economics research.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 5 scale (32,546 - 36,130 per annum) for Research Assistant or Grade 6 scale (38,249- 45,413 per annum) for Research Fellow, with placement according to qualifications and experience.
