ECHO (Epidemiology of Cancer Healthcare and Outcomes) Research group.
Our research is aimed at improving the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and outcomes of cancer patient populations, and the understanding of the role of tumour, patient and health system factors in inequalities in cancer care and outcomes. The ECHO Group includes researchers with diverse backgrounds and the post holder will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with epidemiologists, statisticians, clinicians, and public health specialists. Our research projects are supported by competitively acquired funding by NIHR, Cancer Research UK, HDRUK and NCI, inter alia.
Research Department of Behavioural Science and Health
The post is based within the Research Department of Behavioural Science and Health which is one of four research departments within UCL Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care . The Research Department of Behavioural Science and Health is dedicated to research on how human behaviour impacts health and health outcomes. Our research and teaching reflect our interdisciplinary approach to health and wellbeing, focusing on a broad range of public health issues, such as alcohol and tobacco use, heart disease, cancer, and obesity. About the role
The post holder will chiefly be supporting analysis aligned to the International Cancer Benchmarking Partnership (ICBP) Pathways & Treatments module, on comparing how patients with cancer are diagnosed and treated in different international jurisdictions. They will help to design, implement and quality assure analysis protocols for observational data applying robust methodologies and managing complex datasets in the context of national and international studies.
