As a Research Associate, you will support the provision of a literature search service within a leading multinational healthcare and consumer goods company. This role will focus on performing expert literature searches and synthesising other research outputs, in order to answer medical information queries, support clinical and safety evaluations, and identify trends for further research. Specifically, the role will include the following duties:

  • Undertaking literature searches and reviews
  • Supporting the Research Librarian in the production of subject-specific current awareness materials, alerts, and horizon scans
  • Providing research support for publications and medical documents, including medical information reports and clinical evaluation reports
  • Presenting findings to customers and stakeholders in in-person and virtual meetings
  • Liaison with medical and scientific colleagues
  • Training of colleagues on research tools
  • Maintenance of key performance indictors (KPIs) relating to research activities
  • Continuous improvement of research methods, procedures, and resources to meet customer requirements

  • A degree level qualification in either librarianship or a similar information profession field, or medicine, or a STEM field
  • Experience of literature searching
  • Ability to work to multiple tight deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to adapt due to working in a busy cross-functional environment with changing business needs
  • Experience of medical or scientific research
  • Experience of performing specialist searches, such as systematic reviews
  • Experience of using online databases Embase and Medline/PubMed is beneficial
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
