The Smart Internet Lab is looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic researcher, with a passion for research in networking for immersive media streaming and extended reality (XR) based telepresence applications.
The successful candidate will carry out research for the Horizon Europe SPIRIT Project:

The post holder will join the Smart Internet Lab led by Dimitra Simeonidou, which is one of the UK's most renowned Information and Communications Technology (ICT) research centres.
What will you be doing?
---------------------------
You will carry out research, innovation, and performance testing in the area of immersive telepresence applications, including point-cloud based environments and also Avatar based applications.
You should apply if

You should apply if you have previous R&D experience in immersive multimedia delivery technologies and in particular, extended reality. You will have experience in network configurations for example, 5g and Wifi, virtualisation/containerisation of IT resources for the support of telepresence applications.
You should have or be working towards a PhD in computer science, networks or communications.
You will have the ability to learn quickly, with excellent communications skills and the ability to collaborate and work with a wide range of people. You will have demonstrable abilities in writing technical reports and scientific papers.
