Job Description


The post holder will assist in conducting a randomised controlled trial to evaluate the performance of a research protocol to compare the Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) intervention with Trauma-Focused CBT. The interventions will be delivered by charities focusing on the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in ex-military veterans. They will assist the QUB principal investigator (PI), Professor Cherie Armour, working alongside PI collaborators from Kings College London (Professor Jackie Strut & Professor Neil Greenberg).The successful candidate will assist in the overall delivery of the project across multiple collaborator organisations in the UK. The post holder will be provided with opportunities to build their own research capacity and research interests through training opportunities and through collaborations with senior academic colleagues regionally, nationally and internationally through the established research networks of colleagues.About the person:

  • Honours Degree in Psychology or cognate discipline.
  • Hold, or be about to obtain, a PhD in Psychology or cognate discipline.
  • Recent relevant research experience.
  • Experience of having worked with multidisciplinary teams involved in research.
  • Understanding of issues with data confidentiality/security/data sharing.
  • Experience of designing and collecting quantitative survey data, including using online survey software such as Qualtrics.
  • Experience of using the statistical packages of SPSS.
  • Evidence of recently publishing a peer reviewed output(s).
