Oxford Economics, a leading global economic forecasting and consulting firm, is seeking a full-time Intern to join our Thought Leadership team for a fixed 6-month contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the early stages of their career who's looking to gain hands-on experience in economic analysis and strategic content creation. The internship offers exposure to how we develop evidence-based insights for global clients, and provides a great foundation for those interested in a career in economics, consulting, or business research.

The Thought Leadership team at Oxford Economics equips business executives, policymakers, and other decision-makers with the evidence and insights needed to operate their businesses more efficiently, sustainably, and profitably. We do this through primary research, fieldwork, data analysis, and original reporting. Our clients are global leaders across diverse industries including Google, YouTube, TikTok, Accenture, EY, Uber, Cognizant, SAP, IBM, and Fujitsu.

The intern will assist members of the Thought Leadership team on research programs, enabling clients to engage an audience through well-written publications and compelling primary data. The right candidate will have an interest in the challenges facing global business and the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to develop insights. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as exceptional attention to detail. They must be proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook with experience in other relevant software tools considered a plus.

This role provides outstanding learning and development opportunities, especially as the Thought Leadership editorial team expands its capabilities. Successful candidates can expect to work closely with a selection of global clients and data suppliers, supporting the management of a portfolio of Thought Leadership projects across varied topic areas. You will be a contributing member of a small editorial team alongside four experienced editorial staff and two data analysts. Though based in Westminster, the role will require working with colleagues around the world, often working on projects with the team in our NYC office.

Key Responsibilities





Research and analysisSupport project managers in conducting the necessary desk research to ensure the accuracy, currency, and comprehensiveness of the information in our published reports Help to draft surveys related to sponsored research projects Review and quality-assure primary research data (e.g., survey responses) Contribute to survey analysis to develop data insights, ensuring that we have insightful answers, and deliver important impactful work product for our clients Support building charts, graphs, dashboards, and data visualisations Assist editors in checking quotes, facts, and data in reports
Supplier managementHelp manage survey fieldwork, including communicating regular progress updates and sending relevant deliverables Collaborate with other team members to specify project data presentation and analysis requirements Help manage supplier performance and escalate any issues as required
AdministrationHelp organise project and supplier documentation, including proposals, contracts, data files and client deliverables Support managers with financial documentation, managed through the SAP platform Support the marketing team with posting relevant Thought Leadership materials on our corporate website and LinkedIn


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise





Education and experienceA first or upper second class (or expected) degree from a top university in a numerate subject. Candidates with degrees in other subjects will be considered if they have other evidence of strong numeracy Research and data analysis experience an advantage
SkillsStrong analytical and research abilities, including the ability to manipulate and analyse data in Excel, Tableau or PowerBI (or similar), providing data-driven insights Adept user of PowerPoint, Word and Outlook Strong organisational skills and process-oriented with the ability to execute Project management and administrative skills Ability to write in a clear and engaging manner, argue compellingly with evidence, and present data intelligently Copyediting and proofreading skills, checking for spelling and grammatical errors Fluent English writing and language skills; additional European languages a plus
