We are looking for someone with administrative skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellent practices to deliver Edinburgh's ambition for the upcoming Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise, building on the success of REF 2021. The successful candidate will contribute to important activities designed to create high quality documents, meetings and events that ensure peak performance. Working in a dynamic team, you will be an integral part of our activity.
The Opportunity:
The role offers opportunity to be part of a team delivering a successful REF submission, and research performance though our excellent research analytics and insights services. You will support the team through various administrative tasks that will keep the team running smoothly. Working within our team of six, the post holder will also provide support for areas of activity including setting up meetings, managing shared mailboxes and maintaining SharePoint sites.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, have good communication skills and a strong command of the English language. You will be able to plan and prioritise your own work effectively, while able to respond to fresh requests as they develop. An ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential, and you will need IT skills across different types of packages (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, email and calendar systems).

The REF, Planning and Performance Team is responsible for initiatives designed to drive institutional ambition and deliver research excellence across the University in line with the Research & Innovation strategy. Our work is critical to effective and successful submissions to institutional research assessment exercises and gaining insight from our research data. Working in the team, you can expect your evidence-based analyses and recommendations to change the direction of planning for research across the institution. Working in the team will give you access to research data and systems from across the university and the Higher Education sector relevant to research performance. This is a new team, giving you the option to help define its identity.
