SwiftDx is seeking an enthusiastic and curious Research Scientist to join our research and development team. You will play a key role in advancing our core diagnostic technologies and supporting the development of innovative lateral flow assays with enhanced sensitivity. This is a full-time position based in Cambridge.

SwiftDx is a small but growing team of dedicated scientists. We are looking for someone who can integrate smoothly into our collaborative environment, embrace mentorship, and contribute positively to our shared goals. While specialist experience is beneficial, a strong foundation in good laboratory practice and a proactive approach to learning new techniques are essential. You should be comfortable adapting to changing priorities and taking initiative in a fast-paced setting. Experience in quality control and validation work would be highly advantageous

Key Responsibilities



Plan and conduct experimental work under the supervision of senior team members Perform quality control and validation of in-house developed components Support optimisation, manufacture and testing of lateral flow devices Work effectively with colleagues to deliver robust diagnostic devices and generate reliable research data Actively contribute to scientific discussions, troubleshooting and project planning

Essential Requirements



A bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline such as Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or similar Excellent practical laboratory skills with thorough and accurate record-keeping A positive attitude to learning and a willingness to acquire new technical knowledge quickly

Desirable Skills



A master's degree in a relevant field Experience in quality control, assay validation or regulatory workflows Familiarity with lateral flow test development and optimisation
