The Department of Vector Biology at LSTM is one of the largest of its kind with a broad portfolio of research and technical assistance activities targeted at improving the control of insect-borne diseases. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Technician to join this dynamic research team on a fixed-term basis, supporting cutting-edge work in vector control and the development of novel methods to improve public health outcomes.
The postholder will support the development, optimisation, and validation of methods used in vector control and conduct research to improve our understanding of vector control tools and their evaluation. The position will primarily support a project funded by IVCC exploring the effect of volatile pyrethroids, such as transfluthrin, on mosquito populations with different insecticide resistance phenotypes. The role will also contribute to broader research activities, method development, and collaborative work that feeds into WHO guideline development.
