We're looking for a technically exceptional researcher and science writer to join the content team behind a fast-growing science media platform with 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube. Led by Dr. Ben Miles (PhD, Nanophotonics), our platform explores the technologies reshaping the future -- from quantum navigation to synthetic biology and nuclear propulsion. We produce high-quality explainer content viewed by millions, aimed at a technically literate, intellectually curious audience.

Our output spans:

YouTube (shorts + long-form) LinkedIn & newsletter content Brand and partner communications
We're building a professional content team that can match the depth and tone of our founder - technically rich, structurally tight, and never dumbed down.

The Role

You will:

Research frontier science topics (AI, energy, quantum, biotech, etc.) Write scripts for both short-form and long-form YouTube videos Draft high-level marketing and outreach content (e.g. LinkedIn, newsletter, pitch decks) Translate complex research into structured, accessible, and compelling stories Match a precise tone and editorial style: clear, confident, and deeply informed
You Bring

A Masters or PhD (or equivalent research experience) in a scientific or technical field Proven ability to write about complex topics with clarity and structure Familiarity with academic research, preprints, and emerging technologies Strong communication skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, creative environment A respect for accuracy and a low tolerance for hype or fluff
Bonus Points For

Experience writing for YouTube, podcasts, Substack, or media platforms Familiarity with venture-backed science startups or tech commercialisation A portfolio that includes structured, technical storytelling

Pay: 24,000.00-35,000.00 per year
