Main Purpose of Role

This role plays a critical part in supporting the reserving function, leading the delivery of high quality actuarial analysis, and ensuring the syndicate meets its regulatory and internal requirements.

Key Accountabilities & Role Requirements

Lead the Assessment of gross and net reserves by class of business. Assessment of Technical Provisions under Solvency II or other local regulation Support preparation of documentation and returns for local regulatory bodies Develop and maintain reserving models, ensuring they are robust and comply with Lloyds and PRA requirements Preparation of reports for Quarterly Syndicate & Group functions and use of data warehouse Collaborate with pricing & underwriting teams on a regular basis to ensure an understanding of portfolio performance & trends Preparation and present reserving analysis to inform management and support underwriting teams Contribute to the production of the Actuarial Function Report Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior members of the actuarial team Support with the assessment of the reserving risk parameters for the internal capital model, contributing to capital modelling as required

Qualifications & Experience

At least 7 years Insurance experience, with preferably 5 years+ specifically in reserving and Technical Provision reporting. Lloyd's reserving experience is highly desirable. ResQ experience desirable but knowledge of equivalent reserving software essential. VBA, Access and data warehouse systems experience desirable but not necessary Confident communicator with the ability to present technical information clearly to non-actuarial stakeholders
