St Philip's School provides specialist Residential Care and Education to young people aged between 10 - 19 years, who have a range of additional support needs, including social, emotional and behavioural development. St Philip's School ensure all young people utilising our services are supported in a nurtured and trauma informed way and follow The Promise for Scotland's children and young people.

St Philip's School are seeking Assistant Services Managers for our campus based in Airdrie and our community based provision in Lanark. The successful candidates will work a variety of shifts on a three week rolling rota.

The working week for our community provision includes providing on-call support to the service as dictated by the on-call rota. An additional on-call allowance is provided for this.

The Assistant Services Manager will support the Care Manager by providing leadership and support to all the young people within the service and assisting alongside the other Assistant Services Managers with the support and management of residential child care workers.

As a key member of the management team you will be required to be highly responsible, professional, intuitive and flexible with the drive to support the team.

Main tasks-



Ensure the effective development and understanding of care planning, focusing on identifying and progressing outcomes guided by our assessment process.

Ensure the principles of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Trauma Informed practice, GIRFEC and the National Practice model are implemented throughout the assessment and care planning process. Working collaboratively and ensuring the young person is at the centre throughout the process.

Work in partnership with education staff to raise aspirations of all young people. Promote the extended learning experience and educational outcomes of young people.

Support education staff to have a full understanding of young people's outcomes within their child's plan and share strategies to support the young people.

Adopt a collaborative approach in all aspects of practice to ensure cohesive working with all colleagues.

Take full account of policies and protocols that safeguard the health, well- being, safety and security of all children, young people, and staff within their environment.

Essential Requirements:



SVQ 4 Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF level 9 (or currently undertaking) A qualification that satisfies full registration with the Scottish Social Services Council Must have eligibility to work full-time in the UK Must have own mode of transport Previous experience working in a Community based Residential Care service. Excellent communication skills Flexible Approach Be able to demonstrate the ability to be resilient to the pressures of working with challenging behaviours. Empathic and non-judgemental Be able to respond to unexpected and at times crisis situations, with strong leadership.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children or protected adults.

Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children. You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with St Philip's School, the cost of which will be met by you.

Pay: 37,488.70-41,943.50 per year
