We are looking for a caring and compassionate individual to join our highly dedicated residential support team, who provide short break respite for young people with a range of additional needs.
Working on a two-week fixed rota basis, we have an exciting recruitment opportunity within our dedicated team of support workers (various hours depending on experience and need).
Maples Residential Unit, based in the grounds of St Bernard's School, is dedicated to providing care and support to children and young people with complex, severe, moderate additional needs, including ASD, SEMH, communication and interaction differences. We endeavour to create a home from home environment that meets the varied needs of the children and young people we support, to enable them to feel safe, to thrive, to enrich their lives and to develop and achieve their full potential.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated support worker who is willing to go above and beyond for the children and young people we support, to join our family of dedicated staff to work within our residential provision, and to help us continue to transform the lives and life chances of our young people.
The post will be based in Maples Residential unit at St Bernard's School in Louth, and the applicant should have energy for supporting positive behaviour, communication and complex needs. The successful candidate will need to
Be willing to work within a team to support groups of children and young people with additional needs, under the leadership of the Residential Manager.
Provide support to other staff and the Residential Manager across a range of child centred activities, to promote child development and independence, as part of a team, responding to the needs of the young people.
Hold a Level 3 in residential care or equivalent, or be willing to undertake a relevant qualification in accordance with National Care Standards (funded by Inspire ICCT).
GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
