Package:
Salary:
30,000 - 32,404.80 p.a. (Including an average of 5-7 sleeping shifts per month)
Hours:
40 hours per week + sleeping shifts + overtime available
Shift Pattern:
11 days worked in a 31-day month
Holidays:
28 days per year plus an additional Birthday annual leave day
Headway Care Services Exclusive Benefits:
50 per sleeping shift
Refer-a-friend fee: 250 (upon completing probation)
200 bonus upon two years of service
Additional Birthday Annual Leave Day upon completing probation
Service Description:
Headway Care Services is a newly established Solo Placement Residential Children's Home, designed to provide focused, one-to-one care for a young person aged 11-17 with complex needs. Our goal is to create a therapeutic and stable environment where they can flourish and develop positively.
Job Purpose:
As a
Residential Care Worker
, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support in a solo placement home. You will be responsible for ensuring the well-being, safety, and emotional development of the young person in our care. By fostering a positive and stable environment, you will help them build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day care, ensuring the safety and well-being of the young person
Support educational engagement, homework, and life skill development
Build strong, positive relationships and promote personal growth
Plan and participate in fun and engaging activities, from gaming to outdoor adventures
Maintain records, care plans, and reports to ensure compliance and best practices
Collaborate with external professionals to support the young person's development
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
GCSE English or equivalent (Essential)
Skills:
Strong written and IT skills
Required:
NVQ Level 3/4 in Residential Childcare
Experience:
Previous experience in a childcare setting, especially with traumatised children and those with emotional and behavioural difficulties
