The Role
As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with a range of needs, including autism, communication challenges, and social or emotional difficulties. Working as part of a supportive, values-led team, you'll help create a warm, consistent, and structured environment that enables each child to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people.
Support children to develop life skills, confidence, and positive relationships.
Respond appropriately to a range of emotions and behaviours, using positive behaviour support techniques.
Safeguard children and ensure their welfare at all times, in line with Ofsted and company standards.
Work collaboratively as part of a team, following care plans and individual risk assessments.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports and reviews.
Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Experience working with children or young people in a residential, educational, or care setting.
Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and behaviour management.
Ability to remain calm, resilient, and compassionate under pressure.
Fluency in English
Right to work in the UK
Reliable, flexible, and committed to making a positive difference.
Desirable:
Experience working with children who may have Autism, ADHD, or who are non-verbal.
Knowledge of Makaton or sign language.
Full UK driving licence.
Shifts & Schedule
8-12 hour shifts
Includes sleep-ins and weekend availability
