compassionate, reliable, and resilient Residential Childcare Practitioners
to join our
Ofsted-registered children's home
in
North Yorkshire
.

additional needs, emotional and behavioural challenges, autism, and learning disabilities

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about
safeguarding, residential childcare, and making a genuine difference
in young people's lives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality
day-to-day care and support
within a registered children's home
Build positive, stable, and trusting relationships with children and young people
Support emotional wellbeing, behaviour management, and positive routines
Promote independence, life skills, education, and social development
Contribute to
care plans, risk assessments, behaviour support plans
, and key-working
Maintain accurate
daily records, logs, incident reports, and safeguarding documentation
Follow all
safeguarding policies, Children's Homes Regulations 2015
, and Ofsted standards
Support young people with education, appointments, activities, and community engagement
Carry out
daily household tasks
to ensure the home remains clean, safe, and well-presented
Work flexibly across rota patterns, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins
Participate in team meetings, training, supervision, and reflective practice
Essential Requirements
Experience working in
residential childcare
or children's services (preferred)
Understanding of
Ofsted expectations
and safeguarding responsibilities
Calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging behaviour
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to work
rota-based shifts
, including sleep-ins
Enhanced DBS check
(or willingness to apply)
UK driving licence (desirable but not essential)
