are seeking a passionate and dedicated Residential Childcare Trainer to join our team. We are committed to providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in our residential settings, and we believe that investing in our staff is crucial to achieving this. As a Residential Childcare Trainer, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering training programs that empower our team to provide exceptional care.

The Residential Childcare Trainer will be responsible for

designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for residential childcare staff. This includes both mandatory training and specialised programmes targeting certain homes or children needs. You will work closely with management to identify training needs and ensure that all training is aligned with best practices, linking this to mandatory qualifications and therapeutic practices.

This is a national position, you would be delivering face-to-face training to a staff team throughout the company on a scheduled training programme that may require overnight stay.

Key Responsibilities:



Develop Training:

Design and develop engaging and effective training programs.

Training Delivery:

Deliver training sessions in a number of different capacities, including classroom, in-home and online.

Evaluation:

Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to ensure continuous improvement.

Compliance:

Ensure all training programs meet relevant regulatory requirements and best practice standards.

Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of training attendance and completion.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with management, assessors and managers in relation to the content of the programmes.

Stay Updated:

Stay up-to-date with current legislation, research, and best practices in residential childcare.

Qualifications and Experience:



Essential:



Significant experience working in residential childcare settings. A strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and relevant legislation. Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Ability to develop and deliver engaging and effective training programs. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Be willing to work towards an Award in Education and training (Level 3)

Desirable:



Experience in developing and delivering online training. A recognised training qualification( Award in Education and Training (AET) - Level 3 / Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS) - Level 4 / Diploma in Education and Training (DET) - Level 5) Qualification in residential child care (Level 3 or 5)
