About the role:
As a
Waking Night RCW
, you will play a key role in ensuring the overnight safety and well-being of the children in our care. Working as part of a therapeutic team, you'll contribute to a calm and secure environment where young people can feel protected and respected, even while they sleep.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
To remain awake and vigilant for the duration of your shift ensuring young people are safeguarded throughout the night
To undertake such domestic duties including cooking and cleaning that have been identified on the daily handover and passed to you by the Team Leader at the beginning of your shift
To maintain a log of events throughout the course of your shift and prepare handover ready for staff in the morning
To deliver personal care when guided by the young person's care plan
To be responsible for the security of the building for the duration of your shift
To participate in training as directed by your line manager and if applicable complete diploma in line with Children's Home Regulations 2015
What we are looking for:
Ideally have previous Residential Childcare experience
Experience with Learning disabilities or mental health support for adults & children is desirable
Work on a Night shift/Rota basis - Waking Night shifts (152 hours per month)
An enhanced DBS certificate will be required upon appointment
