We are seeking a committed, experienced, and compassionate Residential Children's Home Manager to lead and manage a 3 bedroom children's home providing care for young people aged 8-18 years of age, with emotional and behavioural difficulties, trauma backgrounds, or additional needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care, maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and standards, and promoting a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management
Provide strong, inspirational leadership to the care team.
Ensure the home operates in line with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
Recruit, supervise, and appraise staff in line with company policy.
Create a supportive culture that encourages professional growth and positive team dynamics.
Safeguarding & Welfare
Take lead responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Manage and mitigate risk appropriately.
Respond effectively to safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate procedures.
Care & Support Planning
Develop and monitor care plans and placement plans tailored to each child's needs.
Promote positive behaviour management and emotional resilience.
Ensure each young person's voice is heard and included in all aspects of their care.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Maintain high standards of record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with Ofsted and local authority expectations.
Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections, implementing recommendations and improvements where necessary.
Undertake regular audits, reviews, and monitoring activities to ensure continuous service improvement.
Partnership Working
Liaise effectively with social workers, education providers, health professionals, and families.
Attend and contribute to Looked After Child (LAC) reviews and planning meetings.
Budget & Resource Management
Manage the home's budget responsibly.
Ensure effective use of resources and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for children and staff.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (or working towards).
Minimum 2 years' experience in a senior role within a children's residential setting.
Excellent knowledge of Ofsted requirements, safeguarding legislation, and children's home regulations.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Compassionate approach to caregiving with a focus on enhancing residents' quality of life.
Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a fast-paced environment.

Pay: 45,000.00-50,000.00 per year
