Job Summary
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day care and safeguarding of children and young people living in our Ofsted-registered home. You will help create a stable, nurturing, and therapeutic environment that promotes each young person's well-being, personal development, and independence.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Support:
Deliver consistent, high-quality care, including assistance with personal care, education, emotional support, and leisure activities.
Safeguarding:
Proactively identify and report concerns in line with Prosperity Care Group's safeguarding procedures and Children's Homes Regulations.
Relationship Building:
Develop positive, trusting, and professional relationships with young people, supporting emotional resilience and personal growth.
Care Planning:
Support the delivery and review of individual care plans and risk assessments.
Behaviour Management:
Respond appropriately to challenging behaviours using trauma-informed, child-centred, and non-punitive approaches.
Collaboration:
Work closely with colleagues, managers, external professionals, and families to achieve the best outcomes for each child.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate, timely records in line with safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
Home Maintenance:
Contribute to a safe, clean, and supportive home environment, including domestic duties and compliance with health and safety standards.
Flexible Working:
Participate in a rolling shift pattern, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and up to 2-3 sleep-in shifts per week.
Training:
Attend and actively engage in all mandatory and developmental training required by the home.
Person SpecificationEssential Qualifications and Experience
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England)
or willingness to work towards this within 2 years of employment.
At least
12 months' experience
working with children or young people with complex needs (EBD, trauma, or mental health challenges).
Sound understanding of
safeguarding and child protection
legislation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable
Experience working in a
registered children's home
or therapeutic residential care.
Valid
First Aid certificate

UK driving licence
