At CrossReach, everyday moments like playing a game, cooking a meal or walking on the beach can help build trust and change young lives. The children and young people we support have faced real challenges. Your role is to help them feel safe, supported and ready for the future.


You'll work in one of our small, community-based houses as part of a dedicated team. The children attend our new, purpose-built school nearby.

What Your Day Could Involve

Building strong, supportive and trusting relationships Helping children with daily routines and activities Supporting care plans and working closely with Lead Practitioners Understanding the reasons behind behaviours, not just responding to them

About You

You have experience of working with children and young people and bring patience, empathy and a genuine desire to help. You're calm under pressure, creative in your approach and always ready to listen.


You'll need a full manual driving licence, as outings and activities are a regular part of the week.

When You'll Be Working

You'll work on a three-week rolling rota, which includes a mix of early (7am3pm) and late (2pm10pm) shifts, along with weekly sleepovers. Sleepover patterns may vary depending on the needs of the children, and you'll receive additional payment for each sleepover shift.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
