Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Conveyancer to join our legal team. This is a full-time on-site role based in Winchester for a Solicitor/CILEX Conveyancing Fee Earner. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including sales, purchases, leases, re-mortgages, and transfers of equity. They will liaise with clients, estate agents, and other third parties to ensure smooth and efficient transactional processes, while maintaining excellent client relationships and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity.
Draft and review legal documentation such as contracts, transfer deeds, and SDLT forms.
Liaise effectively with clients, estate agents, mortgage brokers, and other solicitors to facilitate smooth transactions.
Conduct property searches and investigations to verify title and identify potential issues.
Ensure all transactions adhere to current legal standards and internal policies.
Maintain accurate case files and update case management systems regularly.
Provide clear advice and updates to clients regarding the progress of their transactions.
Coordinate with external parties to meet deadlines and resolve any issues promptly.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Residential Conveyancer or in a similar property law role.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in IT systems relevant to conveyancing work, including case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in document review and data entry.
A recognised legal qualification or accreditation in conveyancing or property law is preferred but not essential. Strong knowledge of Law, including property law and relevant legal frameworks
Familiarity with additional areas, such as Labor and Employment Law, Family Law and commercial property knowledge, is advantageous
Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills
Ability to manage caseloads effectively and meet deadlines
Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) with relevant experience
