. The core working hours are 9am until 5pm with one hour lunch break between 1pm and 2pm Monday to Friday.
Experience of Private Client work and / or Commercial Property would also be desirable but not essential to the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and progress a diverse caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including Freehold and Leasehold transactions, sales and purchases, Transfers of Equity, Re-mortgages, Shared Ownership, and New Builds, registered and unregistered titles. Ensuring each transaction is executed with diligence and foresight.
Provide exceptional client service by liaising directly with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other relevant third parties, ensuring clear, timely and professional communication at all stages.
Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds, and completion statements, with precision and attention to detail.
Order and review property searches, raise and respond to enquiries, and carry out comprehensive title checks, reporting findings to clients and lenders as required.
Manage the exchange of contracts and coordinate the completion process to ensure smooth and efficient transactions.
Handle all post-completion formalities, including SDLT returns, Land Registry applications and requisitions, and other necessary actions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
Uphold the highest standards of compliance with the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) and all statutory and regulatory frameworks, including the firm's own policies.
Contribute to the firm's growth by cultivating enduring client relationships and fostering referral networks.
Person Specification:
Essential:
A minimum of 2 years' PQE experience working in residential conveyancing with proven experience.
Ability to manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of work.
Strong technical knowledge of residential conveyancing procedures and legalities demonstrating a proven track record of successful case management.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
A keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in legal documentation and case management.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and IT systems.
A positive, team-focused attitude
Desirable:
Qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer, Solicitor, or Legal Executive (CILEX).
Experience with Private Client work (Trust administration, Probate and estate administration, drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney) and / or Commercial Property.
