We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team in providing exceptional care within our specialist residential care home for people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, particularly in nursing home environments, and will demonstrate leadership qualities essential for supervising staff and ensuring the highest standards of care for residents. This role is pivotal in supporting the overall management of the facility and enhancing the quality of life for our residents.
Responsibilities
Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Supervise and support staff, fostering a positive working environment that encourages professional development and teamwork.
Develop, implement, and review individual care plans tailored to meet the specific needs of residents, including those with dementia and Alzheimer's care requirements.
Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to medication administration protocols.
Engage with residents to provide updates on care plans and address any concerns or queries.
Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and adjust care plans accordingly to promote optimal health outcomes.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all residents, staff, and visitors.
Participate in recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of staff members to ensure a skilled workforce dedicated to quality care.
Requirements
Proven experience in learning disabilities and mental health settings is essential.
Background in senior care with a strong understanding of mental health and leanring disabilties care practices.
Demonstrated management skills with previous supervisory experience in a healthcare environment.
Excellent leadership abilities with strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, residents, and families.
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and experience developing care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
A compassionate approach to caregiving with a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors.

NVQ Level 3 and working towards level 4 or 5 in health social care.
Experience and well versed in PBS
Previous experience in care work as a carer and working towards management.
