Residential Property Operations Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced residential property operations manager to support and optimise our busy residential property teams across the business.

With offices in Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings, London and Ulverston, the firm supports clients nationwide.

Based in Brighton or Eastbourne, this role will support all five of our offices and play a key part in ensuring our conveyancing teams operate efficiently, consistently and at full potential.

This is a hands-on operational role focused on fine-tuning workflows, supporting solicitors and conveyancing professionals, and driving improvements across process, productivity and file management.

You will work closely with fee earners, team leaders, and management to help maximise performance and profitability while maintaining high standards of client care and compliance.

The role:



You will be responsible for overseeing and improving the day-to-day operational performance of the residential property teams, including:

Working with teams to maximise enquiry handling and matter conversion, ensuring opportunities are captured and progressed effectively. Supporting solicitors and conveyancers to manage matter balances, WIP and file progression effectively. Reviewing and streamlining processes to improve efficiency and consistency across all offices. Introducing, documenting, and maintaining clear standard operating procedures. Improving file management practices and helping teams get the most from case management systems. Identifying bottlenecks, pinch points, and capacity issues, and implementing practical solutions. Ensuring lender panel compliance and robust post-completion processes, including effective Land Registry workflows. Working with teams to improve communication, handovers, and overall workflow. Supporting training and best practice to help individuals perform at their best.
The role will suit someone who understands the pressures of a high-volume residential property environment and enjoys improving systems, processes and outcomes.

Key requirements:



Strong experience within residential conveyancing, either in an operational, managerial or senior support role. A clear understanding of conveyancing workflows, matter management, and compliance requirements. Proven ability to improve processes, introduce SOPs, and drive operational change. Commercial awareness, with an understanding of WIP, matter balances and productivity. Confident communicator able to work effectively with solicitors, conveyancers and support teams. Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to problem-solve and implement improvements.

Pay: 40,000.00-60,000.00 per year
