Job Title: Children's Residential Support Worker



Location: Accrington & Bury



Salary: Earn up to 37,324.80 per annum working 12 shifts per month (including sleeps). Other shift patterns are available.

At Prosperity Children's Service we provide care for vulnerable children and young people across the Lancashire and Greater Manchester area. Our children and young people receive support from a small team of incredible Registered Managers and Support Workers who strive to engage, motivate, and instill confidence and life skills aiming for the best possible outcomes for them.

Your key responsibilities as the Residential Support Worker:



We have a few exciting opportunities for Residential Support Workers to join our team within our brand new, beautifully furnished homes in Accrington and Bury. Our homes within Rochdale and Accrington are registered to accommodate between 1-4 children aged between 6-18 who have suffered trauma, child sexual exploitation and may be present emotional and behavioral difficulties.

As the Residential Support Worker, you will be working with our Outstanding Managers and will support your team with the overall running of the homes, care team and children in line with OFSTED legislation. You will be assisting in the promotion of good childcare practice in accordance with Prosperity Children's Service Policies and Procedures. A key component of the role will be day to day support of the children in our care including household duties, cooking, shopping, laundry and adhering to safeguarding protocols in the home. The role is to ensure that all children receive appropriate care and education as required in their individualised care plans.

The successful candidate will:



Thrive in a team environment and be flexible with the ability to work a Rota pattern including sleeps. Have experience of working with children and young people with challenging behaviors including mental health and behavioral problems Be able to work shifts weekdays, evenings, weekends, and nights Work alongside other passionate and inspiring support workers and instill motivation to the young people. Be a part of helping the children and young people with their personal growth and development. Hold experience of looking after children with emotional, behavioral, or mental health conditions, as such you will need to be compassionate, calm, resilient and understand the issues and challenges children face. Good communication skills are a must. You may be required to spend lengthy amounts of time with young people therefore the ability to communicate well is essential. Good written and verbal skills. This role involves paperwork and liaising with local authorities. Record keeping and report writing as well as verbal reporting is essential. The ability to problem-solve, de-escalate, and divert attention. Be willing to work towards gaining a recognised qualification

Essential requirements:



Full UK Driving Licence As part of your paid induction you must be willing to undertake our Crisis prevention institute training. T
