Children's Residential Support Worker


Location:

Bury, BL9

Salary:

12.50 - 13.50 per hour + 60 per sleep-in shift

Contract Type:

Full-time, Permanent

Hours:

40 hours per week (including day, night, and weekend shifts)

Accord Care Homes

provides therapeutic residential care for children aged 8-18 who present with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), including those affected by trauma, autism, and attachment challenges. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team and provide consistent care in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities



Support children with daily routines, emotional regulation, and independent living skills Build positive and professional relationships in a structured and supportive setting Encourage resilience, independence, and constructive behaviour Work in partnership with families, professionals, and external agencies to meet the needs of each child's care plan Maintain accurate and timely records, including care logs and incident reports Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote the rights and welfare of every child

Essential Criteria



A genuine passion for working with children and young people Sound understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries Willingness to complete mandatory training Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

Full UK driving licence Ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Bury prior to starting work

Desirable Experience



Minimum of 1 year's experience in a children's residential care setting Experience supporting children with complex needs, including autism, ADHD, or trauma-related behaviours
